So you've booked your shoot- Yay!!

Whether it's for engagement, an anniversary, or just looking for a fun date night, I'm super excited to capture it! Now, you, on the other hand, are probably freaking out about what's to come lol. Well, don't, I got you! Here's a quick little guide that I came up with to help you prep and know exactly what to expect- whether its shooting with us or working with another photographer, this guide is here to help you feel confident and prepared.

1. choosing the perfect location

This is the fun begins! After booking, we will go over your vision of the perfect session. Your location sets the tone for your whole shoot- so let's make it you. Love nature? Let's head to a golden field, beach at sunset, or lay a cute blanket under the Spanish moss at a beautiful local park. More urban or artsy? Downtown vibes, rooftops, or the beautiful colorful murals around Florida give you that bold, fun vibe! Have a sentimental spot? Maybe you two have a favorite spot that tells a special story of your first date, or even cuddled up at home can make it feel personal and cozy. I'll help you choose the perfect location that fits your vibe based on lighting, crowds and your personality.

2. outfits that feel like you (without overthinking it)

If there's one thing I learned since starting this whole photography business is: If you feel amazing in it, wear it! But if you're feeling stuck, here's my little cheat sheet:

  • Think neutral tones or soft colors that complement each other- They photograph beautifully and don't distract from the main thing- you!
  • Avoid loud logos or super busy patterns.
  • Coordinate, don't match- think complementary colors not identical outfits. This will help with you two not blending in too much.
  • Flowy dresses, fitted tops, layers, or textured fabrics (like knits or linens) add the best kind of movement to your photos.
  • Bring that backup outfit just incase!

3. It's all about the little details

You don't have to go super glam, but treating yourself to hair/makeup can 100% boost your confidence big time. Think of it as getting all super cute for a date night! Whether it's a light glam, fresh haircut, trimmed beard- every little details goes a long way for the photos- plus who doesn't like a little self love, right? Romantic, intimate little details will always have a special place in my heart so expect lots of close ups. Don't forget clean nails, lint rollers, and comfy shoes if there will be lots of walking.

4. Golden Hour waits for no one.

If we're shooting at golden hour (aka the dreamy light before sunset), timing is everything. Plan ahead for traffic, makeup, or last minute outfit changes. Arriving on time means more shooting time and more variety in your gallery.

5. Expect Movement, laughter, and maybe a little dancing.

I'll be there to guide you every step of the way with fun prompts and easy direction so you never feel awkward or stiff. My goal is to capture real moments, not poses. So come ready to walk, twirl, hug, laugh, play an intense game of thumb war, and maybe even slow dance while the sun sets. If you're nervous, that's okay. I got you. I promise we'll laugh through it together!

6. Leave The stress behind

Remember this is your shoot. It's not about being perfect- it's about being present. Trust me to handle the lighting, angles, and timing. Your only job is to just show up with your person, ready to connect and have fun! You're not here to model- you're here to make memories you can look back at in five years and relive it all over again!

7. Bring these things with you

  • Water and Lip Balms
  • Small Mirror or Powders (for the shine)
  • Flats or Sandals to switch in and out of while walking
  • Outfit Backups or Layers
  • Any personal items you'd like to add (champagne, favorite drink, flowers, pets)

8. ditch these!

  • Hair ties! Take them off! I know Florida heat can sometimes get a little crazy, but I pinky promise it'll be worth it at the end.
  • Take your phones out of your pockets. This is your moment to connect with each other and not get distracted by any notifications.
  • Ditch the gum. My toxic trait is being trigger happy (sorry not sorry lol), so you wouldn't want your photos to have any weird chewing faces- Trust me, not cute lol.

9. last, but not least- just be in love!

This isn't just about getting photos- it's about capturing your story, your connection, and your energy. You don't need to "perform" for the camera- just be yourselves! Your connection is the real magic and I'm just here to document it.

so come as you are, bring those fun playlist's and let's make some memories! I can't wait to shoot with you. oh and yes.... YOU'RE going to look amazing!
